Worth being blunt, because the assumption is extremely common and costs people disk space for nothing.
PNG is a lossless format, so people reasonably expect converting into it to give them a better image. It does not. WebP already discarded detail when it was first saved, and that detail is gone. All the conversion does is preserve what remains, artefacts and all, in a format that happens to be lossless from this point forward.

There is one genuinely good reason to do it anyway. If you are about to edit and re-save the image repeatedly, working in PNG stops each save shaving off a little more quality, which is what would happen if you kept editing the WebP.

PNG is a lossless image format with full transparency support. It keeps every pixel perfect, which makes it ideal for logos, icons, screenshots and graphics with sharp edges, though files are larger than JPG.

GIF transparency is the odd one out. A pixel is either fully visible or fully invisible, with nothing in between, which is why GIF logos often show jagged edges against a background they were not designed for. PNG and WebP both store 256 levels of transparency instead, so their edges blend properly.
